He couldn't explain it

Wow! What news we received at Jacob's appointment this morning! I was preparing myself to be open-minded about what we would hear. I was also thinking things were worse now than they'd been in a while. Jacob's been rather restless at night the last few weeks, and he is pretty congested which is causing some difficulty in breathing.

We travelled down to Cincy last night. Our appt was at 7:30 this morning with Dr. Amin. He gave us the news. The sleep study results indicated Jacob suffered from an average of 1.6 episodes per hour of sleep. How could this be? Just in September it was 19.3 episodes. He said 1 per hour is fine for a child. So 1.6 is actually borderline normal. At 1.6, Jacob is classified as having mild obstructive sleep apnea!

When looking at the overall numbers, I really believe the comparable numbers are 19.3 and 2.7, but still! That's amazing! Numbers can fluctuate slightly on a given day but not this dramatically. We asked if the first studies (done in FW) were scored incorrectly or what the deal is. Of course, he wouldn't come out and say they were wrong, but he couldn't explain this drop. Growing out of it this quickly didn't seem to be an option.

So what could it be? A good explanation is the prayers that were raised on Jacob's behalf. We will accept it that God had opted to heal Jacob - for at least the time-being. We were given some warning signs to watch for in case it would come back, but we are ecstatic at the news!

The only thing we have to do is put him back on Nasonex twice per day. That will hopefully shrink any regrowth of his adenoids and keep his sinuses a bit more clear.

Thank you, Lord, for healing Jacob to this extent :)
