And the Results are In!

Jacob managed to keep his mask on for an hour and a half before falling asleep. No, we weren't trying to torture him, we just thought he was tired enough to fall asleep at the beginning. Then we couldn't let him take it off or we'd never get it back on him! Once he fell asleep, we started the machine up. He barely flinched and didn't move for the next hour. After about an hour, he woke up screaming. We're not sure why - if it was a night terror and he wasn't alert or if it was about the mask. He wasn't pulling at it, so that's what we didn't understand. We opted not to force the issue and took the mask off. Then we let him get back to sleep without it and left it off the rest of the night.
